Kemper has an immediate need for a skilled Software Developer to work on our Document Management team.

Responsibilities

• Under general direction, works on an IT team within a large organization to provide quality, timely and cost-effective solutions.
• Performs development and implementation of project plans for new and existing business applications systems to ensure optimal use of computing systems and to improve information processing on an ongoing basis.
• Prioritizes assignments work and projects while meeting customer requirements.
• Provides technical consulting and support to customer groups with respect to applications computing technologies.
• Writes design specifications based on customers' business needs.

Qualifications

• 5 years of full time experience developing J2EE applications using JAVA
• Knowledge and expertise working with Spring Boot and Spring MVD Framework
• Experience developing enterprise level projects with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Self-starter with the ability to code, test and debug business applications
• Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of J2EE technologies including JMS, Web Services, XML, SQL and JDBC
• Experience working with SOAP / WSDL / XML, RESTAPI, SAML, APIs, Microservices
  Apache Camel, MS SQL Server/Oracle, SoapUI, Postman, Docker, AWS EC2, S3/ SQS / SNS / Lambda, Sonic MQ/Active MQ, Intellij/Eclipse, Git / Gradle / Jenkins / JIRA
• AWS preferred
• Experienced in performance and load testing enterprise applications
• Ability to clearly communicate ideas and information both verbally and in writing
• Ability to gather and analyze facts and draw correct inferences from the information
• Education equivalent to a degree in an information technology related discipline (Computer Science, Computer Engineering a plus), or the equivalent in related work experience

• This is a hybrid position working in the cities of Jacksonville, FL, St Louis, MO or Birmingham, AL. Must be able to go into the office for 2 to 3 days per week.

The range for this position is $70700 to $120900. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is eligible for Kemper benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
